After one day explored the beautiful city of Ho Chi Minh, there's something missing without visiting Cuchi Tunnel (pronounced as Guchi). Cuchi Tunnel is one of the must visit place in Ho Chi Minh. The journey took a hour to reach the destination. We r lucky because the group plan is turned to be private tour when other 11 tourists canceled their tour. So, we spent special half-day tour with our tourist guide Son a.k.a our photographer and willing to took good pic for us. Thanks Son!! p/s we r tortured to give a good pose for the good pictures. Anyway, we r really enjoyed the casual tour..hehe
We stop by at the handcraft shop set up by Vietnam government to help disabled person to earn money by selling their handcraft to tourists. All the handicrafts was made by disabled people and it took long time to produce each artwork, but, they really did the good job produce the impressive and incredible artwork despite physical lacking!!
Most of the handcrafts using pearl as main material and took a month to 6 month to finish it. (depends on the size and design). As a backpackers, I only bought small item like mirror, because the price is affordable and mirror is women's bff..hehe
We stop almost 30 mins at the shop before went to Cuchi Tunnel. During the journey, because it's private tours (perhaps) we have sufficient time to have deeper conversation about the Vietnam's culture and the people as Son willing to tell us about Vietnam. He also ask us some questions about Malaysia, so we r did the culture exchange with each other. It's pretty good experience though, I learnt something new about other countries' culture. yeayyy~~
Reached at the destination, we experienced life as soldier, go for shooting, walking around at the tunnel area, saw the traps made by the soldier and also ate some of tapioca accompanied with the Vietnamese tea, the food they have during the war!~~same as in Msia!!
What's so impressive about the Cuchi Tunnel is they live, eat and work inside the tunnel. The underground tunnel used by Vietnamese soldier during the Vietnam War. The tunnel is small and narrow that only can fit the Asian figure. I guess that was the answer why Vietnamese people is slim..joke!!
I went inside the tunnel, of course accompanied with my BFF, tour guide, flash light and light comes out from my phone. It is really dark, narrow and going deeper and deeper has really scare me a lot, because I'm afraid with the dark n can't wait to comes out from the tunnel. Alhamdulillah, I feel relieved after comes out from the tunnel, I can't turn into words the feeling being in the tunnel. SCARY!! haha
Here my pic to recap the stories~~
