Ho Chi Minh@Day 1

Hey..hey..as I promised, I'm going to show your the beauty of Ho Chi Minh! After a short stay in Tune Hotel, we r heading to the Vietnam! We decided to not using travel guide unless the trip to the Cuchi Tunnel! We r ready to gamble everything like the others backpackers. Me n my BFF Mady is prepared with the mental, physical, food and also MAP!

It took almost 4 month to planning everything from the flight ticket, hotels and surfing about the country.Fortunately, we got the best offer with Airasia.Go which provided hotel+flight (RM600++). Actually, you can save a lot if you buy it separately, but because we are too late to get the cheap flight, we saw this the only best deal n without the further due, we r secured for this ticket!!

Ho Chi Minh, old name Saigon now is open to the world and being-known for their historical buildings and also Paradise of Shopping especially people from Malaysian! Not to forget Vietnam Coffee is the second best coffee in the world after Brazil!!Best place for historical n coffee lovers!

No more writing down the arrival card since the law has abolished not long ago!!yeayy

We just landed in Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh. It marks our journey to shopping paradise:)

The new airport and there's not prayer room here. So better prepared to pray on the floor.

Impressive, the city is clean and organized.

Bus to Our Hotel!Even the driver is wearing tie!!

We arrived at 8.05am (Saigon Time) and see it's friday n people r going to work!

I stayed in this hotel! Thx Airasia for the best deals!

English is rare in Vietnam and it is really challenging to communicate with the local people

This the Ben Thanh Market provide all your needs from clothes, food etc

Monumen for Ho Chi Minh, the uncle of Vietnam..heeh

Ben Thanh Market

No trip complete without trying their Coffee!only applicable to coffee lovers!
Get Set Go!!

We r depart from Kuala Lumpur at 7am and depart in Saigon at 8.05am. Actually the flight took almost 2 hours and Malaysia time is one hour ahead from Vietnam. So, please setting your time while travelling into Vietnam.

ONLY in Vietnam you can casually crossing the roads!!

Add caption
Vietnam is well-known for motorists and I easily can tell how many of the cars on the road. Crossing the roads really challenging for foreigners for the first time!Tips: just follow the flow, communicate with the motorists, just walk, don't too fast and too slow, don't confused the motorists. Don't running or don't turn back. It's sound scary to see bunch of motorcycle in front of u, no worries, they r try their best to avoided you because they r not F1 players, they r riding motorcycle casually. BE brave and confident!!

"Aggressive promoters, cyclo drivers, private motorists" is common in Vietnam.

'Dont look at the map, u r attract the cyclo/motorists/ to approach you!!"

I get confused with the currency of Vietnam, because a lot "000" behind the number, the bad thing I didn't bring the calculator with me + a little of research = being cheated by cyclo drivers!!

Because we look lost n dumb after arrived in Benh Thanh bus station and we r figure out how to get to the hotel, we r being targeted by cyclo drivers and they bring us to the hotel n charged us very expensive!!Just imagine short distance trip cost u about RM60 just to take you around the city is really unacceptable. However, because we never ride any cyclo in hometown, we just accept it as good experience and took it as a good lesson;)

I ride on the cyclo!!OMG my money!Really expensive, but worth for experience:)
Tips: Walking around the HCM city is really easy and don't being deceived by anyone offer to ride you. Because it will end up paying higher price. Also, pretend not to look at the map, u r easily known as tourists! Plus, do a lot of research and don't answer to anyone where r u heading to!

"No!NO!I don't want to buy!"

I experienced that in Vietnam, there's a lot street traders trying to sell something to you and even force you to buy the things. I saw with both my eyes that, there is one lady with his son trying to sell things to the tourists. But the tourists rejected and just passed by. BUT,,, the lady is not give up and keep running towards the tourists to force him to buy for it. Sound scary huh, u better prepared your mental to say NO..No..NO..

Summary Day 1:
Took bus from Airport to Benh Thanh Market-riding cyclo to Dainam Hotel-check in-walking around Benh Thanh Market-take a look at Ho Chi Minh city-took good pictures of historical buildings left by France, Saigon Opera House, City Hall, Famous Post Office and Cathedral. Pampered myself with massage before heading to Cuchi Tunnel on the next day!!

See u on next post!!
